About the Artist
From the Sunshine State to the Land of the Midnight Sun, I am a beach born Floridian who migrated to the last frontier of Alaska in the summer of 2010.
I am a wife to one handsome man in camouflage, and mother to three tree climbing girls. I am an artist, homeschool mom, and a yoga loving, tea drinking gardener and avid hiker.
I draw, paint, & doodle on paper, canvas, walls, and wood. I also love to make, craft and create toys and lovely things, mostly with a nature or wooden theme.
I am inspired by the place we live and the many places we’ve lived before: Alaska’s birch trees and mountains, the rivers and rocks, the dark cold nights of winter and never ending days of summer; The flowers, warm sun, sea, and surf memories of Florida.
I have been homeschooling for 10 years now, a conjoined 15 I suppose, with our oldest being in high school, our middle in elementary, and our littlest a wee toddler yet. We fell in love with the Waldorf method of education over 8 years ago because it fit so well with our family’s values, love of nature & childhood, and appreciation for imagination and creative play. Often times things I’ve picked up homeschooling find their way into my art; handmade journals, nature toys, etc.
We live on a little five acre plot of forest with a big garden, a handful of chickens, and our giant Great Pyrenees named Modi. We play and dream, snug and cozy in our quirky little house in the big beautiful woods.
